Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 331
Introduction To The Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 331
Beneteau Oceanis 331 blue water sailing boat

Launched in 2000, the Oceanis 331 was designed to replace the successful 321 and has become an immensely popular yacht in its own right. This spacious and capable blue water cruiser comes in two versions and with two interior layouts, and her stylish lines and spacious interior have made her a popular choice with families and charter companies alike.

Designed by Groupe Finot and built by Beneteau, the Oceanis 331 has a deeper keel and larger engine than her predecessor, along with a roller furling headsail, lazyjacks and other features designed to make her easy to handle whatever the weather. Her lively, well-mannered performance under sail has won over many a hardened sailor and she offers a good range of options to suit both coastal and blue water sailing. Her optional centre board allows for a 2' 11" draft and a lift-kee, twin-rudder version is also available. The navigation station, with its 6'3" headroom, feels roomy and comfortable, with nice touches such as the storage underneath the chart table.

Her extra length also gives the Oceanis 331 a spacious and roomy feel below deck, with good headroom and an exceptionally large aft cabin, heads and shower. The saloon has an incredible 6'3" of headroom with sociable U-shaped seating and a massive 5'9" settee to port. There are two interior versions (2 or 3 cabin) but the twin cabin is particularly appealing for couples as it offers two large staterooms. The aft master stateroom has a large 7'2" x 6'6" berth, a hanging locker and shelving along the side of the hull, while the private 6'9" x 5'6" V-berth has a sliding door, hanging locker and lots of storage. Even the Head has an impressive 6'2" of headroom with pressure hot and cold water and shower.

Built for comfort and ease of handling, the Oceanis 331 is a spacious blue water cruiser that offers luxury and performance. For family comfort and entertaining, not to mention for taller sailors, this roomy 33 footer is hard to beat.
