Clearing my Fathers effects and have Mark1 wooden Gull home built from kit 1958-9.Gaff rig sail No 179. Measured and certified at time. Dad taught me to sail in it on Norfolk Broads, we competed at Rock, Salcombe and Poole.Garaged every winter, last few years at Keyhaven. Has set of nylon sails, last sailed 3yrs ago, slight seep beside centreboard casing, nil else, no rot and good paintwork, and varnish inside. I guess halyards and shrouds need change, also seals round hatches on watertight compartments.Perished but original side buoyancy bags. Also found Gull Association Handbook 1963,has all original measurements, but no sail numbers. It is on road/launching trailer, tyres flat. Hitchin/Luton area to view. Offers?? |
