Hunter Ranger 265 Yacht / Sailboat

In 1994, British Hunter introduced the new Ranger hull shape to their collection, which included the now popular Hunter 265. The range was designed by David Thomas and they have great stability due to the hull having long waterlines and the existence of a subtle chine. This meant the boats are extremely good at holding to a straight line.

Most Hunter Ranger 265 s are bilge-keel versions, although fin keels were available too. The bilge-keel versions have an extremely high angle of vanishing stability, 147°. A degree of over 120 is considered high, and is rare in a 26 foot boat.

The Hunter Ranger 265 is a small family yacht with an efficient layout for the size of the boat and that can be comfortably stayed in as a family for a holiday or cruise. The yachts are cruisers rather than racers, and are reliable and sturdy sailors. There is over 6 foot headroom in much of the interior, another advantage important to longer cruises. The boat was a popular yacht, with a hundred built between 1994 and 1999. Since then, the Hunter Ranger 265 has been replaced by the Hunter Channel 27.
