Roy Lunney, the designer of the ever popular Corribee, wanted to design a larger boat with more room than the Corribee. After drawing up some plans in 1971 a prototype of the Virgo was produced.

The boat is surprisingly spacious for a 23' boat with a full 6' of headroom in the saloon. The Mark 1 Voyager had 4 berths, two in the forepeak and 2 singles in the saloon. The Mark 2 was slightly different having a double berth in the galley giving 5 berths. What is unusual in a yacht of this size is the separate heads compartment.

The galley is well equipped with a sink and a double burner cooker. There is no oven but space is available for one at the expense of some storage space.

The Virgo is an extremely seaworthy boat for its size and can easily accommodate two people for long term cruising or perhaps a family for day and weekend cruising. Over 350 Voyagers were built until production ceased in the late 1980s.
