Juneau offers unparalleled glacier viewing with Tracy Arm”s Fjord, Mendenhall Glacier, the Juneau Icefield and Glacier Bay National Park. Icebergs Boaters will see icebergs floating down the channel.
Besides its exceptional sailing and boating opportunities, Juneau also offers outdoor enthusiasts kayaking, dogsledding, biking, hiking, and fishing. Winter enthusiasts will enjoy snowboarding and downhill, cross-country and heli-skiing.
The Juneau Yacht Club is proud to host a variety of sail racing events, providing something for every taste: The “Spirit of Adventure Race”, a 200-mile sailboat race around Admiralty Island National Monument, is the longest inland sailboat race on the west coast of North America, while the Juneau Cup Challenge is a series of 4 uniquely-handicapped weekend races for the family cruiser, and the Fall/Spring Harbor Racing Series provides ”around-the-buoys” excitement for the speedy crowd.
