The Lahaina Yacht Club was founded in 1965 and occupies our clubhouse (an old laundry) located at 835 Front St. in Lahaina. The building has a great view of the Lahaina Roadstead and the islands of Kaho`olave, Lana`i, and Moloka`i. Sunsets can be spectacular from the dining room deck overhanging the ocean. We co-sponsor the Victoria to Maui International Yacht Race with the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, which was first run in 1968, every even numbered year in the early part of July and put on several regattas yearly in the Lahaina area.
We have Junior Sailing Classes during summer break, and sponsor a Charity Golf Tournament and Auction in the fall. The club fleet consists of 8 Sabots, 8 O''pen Bics, 4 Lasers, a Lido 14 and an Olson 30 (Snickers). Snickers is used by our club race team for local racing and for daysails by club members and guests.
