Portchester Sailing Club is located in the upper reaches of Portsmouth Harbour, adjacent to Portchester Castle. Founded in 1928, the club caters for dinghy sailors, yacht sailors and fishermen, supported by a great social programme. Whatever your level of interest in sailing and leisure boating, Portchester Sailing Club has something to offer you.
Dinghy sailing takes place at the club between April and October. Racing is held on Wednesday and Friday evenings, and at the weekends. Recreational sailing can take place at all states of the tide. The junior section is particularly well supported with a large Topper fleet.
The club has recently achieved Volvo RYA Champion Club status, which recognises the strength of the junior programme and quality of coaching. The club holds RYA Training Centre status and offers courses for both adults and children. A wide range of dinghy courses are offered, and also powerboat and first aid training. The club owns several craft for use by club members for both training and recreational purposes. We welcome volunteers who are able to help with instruction in any capacity.
