Rothesay Yacht Club

Description

Rothesay Yacht Club has most of the facilities needed to be a successful sailing and power boating club and is only a few minutes away from shopping in the town of Rothesay. A club house, surrounded by trees with a tremendous view of Kennebecasis Bay is the centre for activities, providing everything that members need for social and business meetings. Seating on the wrap-around deck and a covered barbecue area help the ambiance of the club. Upstairs in the clubhouse there is lockable space for members storage, sails, oars, outboards, rope, buoys, etc.

Parking for vehicles, boats, trailers and cradles is provided and most of these areas are serviced with water and electricity. A large spar shed houses masts, dinghies and their equipment for Junior sailing, and other club paraphernalia necessary for the smooth operation of the club. Junior sailors also use this building from time to time for summer activities.

There is a tool shed for storage of tools required by club staff to help them maintain buildings, docks and the grounds. Moorings and berths are situated in a cove protected by a large breakwater. Part of this structure includes a drive-on wharf with a mast stepping crane, free pump out facilities and fresh water and docks for off-loading. A rented crane is used for launch and haul at appropriate times. There is a slip for use by members and for a small fee by non-members. Visiting boats are always welcome at the club and a mooring will be provided upon request to the Club Superintendent.
