Gull Spirit sailing dinghy

The 11 foot GULL SPIRIT, designed by Ian Proctor, is based on the original hard-chine plywood Gull. The robust GRP GULL SPIRIT has a redesigned modern layout with built-in buoyancy, giving the dinghy a greater appeal for all-round family cruising/racing, single-handed sailing or sail-training purposes.

One of the many appealing features of this boat is her light weight. At just 195 pounds she is incredibly easy to handle on shore, but robust enough to take two adults and a couple of children out on the water. If you like storage space when you go sailing, the Spirit has bags of it, and has a large transom locker which is big enough for a 2hp Suzuki outboard engine. An important feature of the Gull Spirit is the way in which the buoyancy is distributed throughout the boat, providing safety and making the righting of the boat safe, quick and easy.

She has a Bermudan rig, a keel-stepped mast, transom mainsheeting system and a jib furling system which is just the thing for cruising, plus a neat little spinnaker for racing. Launching and recovery of the Gull Spirit is a dream thanks to the lightweight, easy to use combination trailer built by Anglo Marine.
