Our club is dedicated to providing a family atmosphere and the enjoyment of sailing in all forms. BLSC is a participatory club with racing, social, cruising, and other sailing related activities which appeal to sailors of different skills, experience, and interests.

Grand Maumelle Sailing Club is a nonprofit corporation organized to promote sailboat racing. Our program consists of a series of races from May through October for centerboard boats, and from November through April for keelboats. Fleets include Laser dinghies, Flying Scots, Hobies, Y-Flyers,Thistles and various other keelboats.
The Grande Maumelle Sailing Club offers junior sailing programs for children 7 to 16 to develop knowledgeable junior sailors and to instill in them a love for the sport of sailing. New docks have been built for the Sunfish and Lasers allowing students the ability to practice all summer, not just during class time. Certified Instructor will assist students in their basic sailing skills and also in improving their racing knowledge.

We have a very active group of sailors and their families who share the enjoyment of boating at Greers Ferry Lake. We have members who enjoy the competition of racing and others who prefer to cruise. We have members who have their own boat and others who crew on someone else''s boat. Some of our members have large boats over 40 feet in length, while others have small inexpensive boats less than 22 feet long.
Because we enjoy the company of all types of sailors, our club is relatively informal. We are not like what may be the stereotypical yacht club with a fancy clubhouse and members walking around in blue blazers. We just enjoy sailing and socializing together. I encourage you to view our calendar of events for 2010. This year''s calendar is a result of input from members so that we match our activities with the interests of everyone. We have activities scheduled on two Saturdays every month January through October. One of the Saturdays includes a racing event and one includes a cruising event. All of these events are followed by a social event.
