Shropshire Sailing Clubs
The club has a very healthy membership of 400, with visitors of 300 on an annual basis. Determined efforts are made to attract new members and therefore the club continues to grow each year, but has not lost its family feeling.
The adult fleets consist of Laser, GP14, Solo, Fireball, and Topper dinghies; also a Menagerie class (PN of 950 to 1158). The junior fleets comprise Optimist, Topper and Mirror dinghies. These junior fleets are a very important feature of the club and competition is encouraged against the adult fleets.
Colemere Sailing Club is located near Ellesmere in North Shropshire, UK. We presently have approximately Seventy members who sail many types of dinghies. Overlooking the mere, our beautiful clubhouse contains changing rooms, showers, a small kitchen and a club-room. There is also a secure dinghy park so that members can leave their boats at the Club throughout the year.
We are a small, friendly club that aims to accommodate the interests of individual members, of families, of keen racing sailors and of those who just enjoy messing about in boats. Whitemere provides beginners with safe sailing in attractive surroundings, although the surrounding trees can give rise to fluky winds which can test the skills of the most experienced sailor. It”s a delightful place to spend a sunny summer day even if you don”t manage to get into a boat! New members are always welcome.
