Stewartby is located in the very centre of Bedfordshire and is only a few minutes journey away from Bedford.  Not only do we a great location but we are also blessed with many facilities for our members to make full use of. Lets start with the lake as its the biggest expanse of water used for sailing in the area.

Although we do share the lake with powerboats the section are divided up and all safety precautions are followed. The lage is almost a mile long and we always get a good steady breeze on the lake, although we do get the occasional shift just to keep the sailors on their toes. The club owns 4 rescue boats, 2 rigid inflatables and 2 dories. They are all in correct working order and run almost every weekend to make our sailors feel safe. We also have a number of sailboats which are ready to be hired and sailed for a small fee. There are 2 long slipways and a beach for catamarans, making launching a pleasure.

We also have the means to run racing every weekend all year round from the race control hut. The boatpark has a very good capacity and there is still room for more members boats. The park has roadways for easy access and tie downs so all the boats are secure. The club also has a very large steel fence giving good security and access to members only.

The clubhouse is large enough for our members and has many facilities to take advantage of. We have a bar which is open most days when sailing is taking part. A Galley to keep everyone going, they serve hot and cold food as well as hot and cold drinks at very reasonable prices. We also hav a confortable bar area and a wet area where wet sailors can sit. There are also toilets and changing rooms with hot showers. The sailing section supports a RYA recognised sailing School. Courses are run on a regular basis for the RYA Young Sailors Scheme and the RYA Adult Scheme. They also run powerboat courses.
